According to Indian Vedic Astrology in India, or celestial bodies, be it the Sun, The Moon, The Planets or stars, influence the Terrestrial Phenomena, or indicate such Phenomena by their various Configurations.
The Configurations of the Planets and Stars at the moment of Birth determines one’s basic Life Story Inclinations, Characteristics, strengths, Weaknesses. Horoscope, or the Natal Chart, is therefore the Construction of the Basic placement of Planets at the time of Birth. That is why it is termed as a Janam-Patri in Indian Vedic Astrology.
Rune Masters were also skilled in the art of rune casting, a method of divination. In one common rune-casting technique, the diviner carved runes on pieces of bark, then flung the pieces on the ground, picked three at random, and used the symbols inscribed on them to answer his client's question. Alternatively, the Rune Master painted runes on flat pebbles. He then placed the pebbles in a leather bag, shook the bag, and cast the pebbles onto the ground. Runes that landed face up served for the divination. The Vikings are often portrayed as illiterate, uncultured barbarians who evinced more interest in plunder than in poetry. In fact, the Vikings left behind a great number of documents in stone, wood and metal, all written in the enigmatic symbols known as runes. They relied on these symbols not only for writing but also to tell fortunes, cast spells, and provide protection.
