What Is Palmistry
Palmistry is the practice of predicting a person's future or character by analyzing the lines and markings on their hand. It's also known as palm reading, chiromancy, or cheirology.
Palmistry is considered a pseudoscientific or superstitious belief by scientific literature. There's no evidence that palm features are linked to psychological traits.
Some say that the origins of palmistry may have started in ancient India and spread from there. It fell out of favor during the Middle Ages, but was revived in the 19th century as interest in the occult grew. By the mid-1900s, palmistry was a part of American pop culture.
Some say that the left hand is what a man is born with, and the right hand is what he accumulates throughout his life. For women, it's the opposite. The dominant hand is said to determine the future, while the non-dominant hand determines the past or hidden traits.
Some say that the lifeline on the palm reflects physical health, general well-being, and major life changes.
